2020 Goals

It's the end of the year and I am so thankful for 2019. As I look back over the year, I can't believe all that's happened.

First up, I crushed all my social media goals.

Twitter = 586
Facebook = 84
Instragram = 250
Blog = 65*** see below with this goal

Thank you to everyone who liked and followed me to be apart of my rambling on about books and other bookish things. It's strange to think some of the people who I've met online, we check in on each other almost daily. I am so, so, thankful for the reading community because of the support and friendships.

In the same breath can we talk about how much fun I have every other month with Paige and Saajid! If you want to participate in our live shows make sure you follow @bashbookclub on Twitter for updates on what we are reading/discussing.

I was able to work with so many talented content creators and it's because of this shared love of reading 2019 was amazing. My bookish friends resulted in a Weekend Reader slow reading group on GoodReads. Feel free to join here: Weekend Readers

And lastly, I participated in 3 blog tours in 2019. I was the most proud of With The Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo content:

I think due to posting regularly (2019 goal) helped with increasing my followers and participating in the blog tours.

And who could forget my brief stardom being featured on the Audible website for my review of The A.I. Who Loved Me.

Just this bit of a recap makes me so proud of the year and I'm pumped looking forward to my 2020 goals are pretty simple:
  1. Update my blog (hehe done). I received feedback that bloglovin was cumbersome for friends who wanted to read my blog posts.The official new hub for blog posts will be here on weekend-reader.blogspot.com. My blog schedule will still be Thursdays but I am moving to a bi-weekly model in order to up my engagement for each post.
  2. Decrease my book spending by half. I spent a whopping $2,510 in 2019 and I don't even know how I feel like about this number other than 'ignorance is bliss'. I really have to curve my spending and work through how I approach the urge to buy new releases. Read, Gift, Unhaul will be returning for this very reason.
  3. I have a lot of STUFF! I want to be intentional about my consumption so once a month (for now) I will donate a box of items and send through the giveabox program.
  4. I want to increase my collaboration with other content creators and publishers. I'm already thinking of buddy read opportunities, read alongs, and also shout out opportunities. I've created a form if you're interested in my shouting you out on my blog or social media please click: WR shout out form.
As I head into my third year of book blogging the goal will be shifting from increasing followers to really engaging with people who have decided to follow. What are some of your goals?

Happy Reading!
